Application Procedures of Uniaxial Geogrids
1. Preparation
- Flatten the lower bearing layer.
- Clear all debris that may damage the geogrid.
2. Positioning
- Lay the geogrid, with the direction of high strength (machine direction) placed perpendicular to the embankment axis.
- Tense and pull up to avoid wrinkles, twists, and pits.
- Leave an overlap joint of 15-20cm widthwise.
3. Fixation
- Fasten every two rolls of geogrid at the lengthwise edges with cable ties.
- Insert specialized polymer bars up and down between the rib to connect the overlap joints at the short edges.
4. Quality check and protection
- Check whether there is breakage, puncture, or tear.
- Repair or replace if there is damage.
- No vehicles or machine trampling allowed on the constructed geogrid.
- Avoid long-term exposure and lay the upper layer of filler as soon as possible after construction.
