Application Procedures of Biaxial Geogrids in Roadbeds
1. Preparation
- Flatten the lower bearing layer.
- Clear all debris that may damage the geogrid.
2. Positioning
- Lay the geogrid with its length direction in line with the main force direction.
- Tense and pull to avoid wrinkles, twists, or pits.
- Leave an overlap joint of 15-20cm at the edges widthwise and 10cm lengthwise.
3. Fixation
- Use cable ties to fasten the edges and connect the overlap joints.
- Anchor down the geogrid using U nails at intervals of 1.5-2m.
4. Quality check and protection
- Check whether there is breakage, puncture, or tear.
- Repair or replace if there is damage.
- No vehicles or machine trampling allowed on the constructed geogrid.
- Avoid long-term exposure and lay the upper layer of filler as soon as possible after construction.
